PSOM1610 : Polysomnography

In this course, students will learn principles and practices of polysomnography. This course and lab component includes testing indicators, specific polysomnographic terminology, instrumentation, required documentation, the patient care process, as well as basic anatomy & physiology of cardiac, respiratory and neurologic systems as they pertain to PSG. In addition, students will take an in-depth look at the various sleep disorders including their classification, diagnosis and treatment. Students will learn the Practice Guidelines for Adult and Pediatric PSG, technical specifications and sleep report calculations, as well as the recording of bio-potentials and data acquisition storage.
